It has been a pleasure to help find the IT equipment needed by Ukrainian refugees for education, work and to be part of the on-line community. Even SIM cards can be obtained freely, see here.
With refurbished laptops, printers, tablets and phones from the social enterprise DonateIT CIC we have been able to help and get people on line.

Unfortunately we were not able to meet the demand from everyone but we do have the capacity to take in donations of old phones, laptops and printers for recycling safely and securely. Our Friends at DonateIT will clean and securely prepare the IT equipment for some much needed use.
My friend and her daughter from Kherson also need a laptop for learning. Maybe it will be possible to find one for them? They live in Semley too.
If you have some old tech we can make use of it. If you are concerned about your data, our partner is fully able to securely handle the cleaning and resetting of your tech before it is used again. The CIC is a associated with Blackmore Ricotech and the Director, Simon is known to us.
If you do have something to donate then all you need do is the following:
For an Apple device remove it from from any iCloud account and FindMyDevice, (the Apple device cannot be used if this has not been done).
For Android phones and tablets have passwords/patterns removed (or even better do a factory reset)
Drop your device off at Cotton and Coconut in Swan’s Yard, Shaftesbury and at many other locations that you can find here
