Compton McRae is soon to host a Syrian Feast with the support of refugees locally.

Tiffany, Principal at TLW Dance, has reached out to help Ukrainian and Syrian refugees from the start. She recognises that dance is a fundamental means of expression and as such it helps when there is little English available yet and significant emotions to handle. Tiffany and TLW would love to welcome more young people to TLW through the foundation, set up to make accessing the performing arts possible for all children.

Kay has helped us sell quiz tickets through the shop and generously provided prizes and drinks on a sale or return basis.

Motcombe shop is a welcoming place for a coffee and recently raised £750.34 for Ukrainian refugees

Open House is a community drop in centre open to all on a Tuesday from 10am - 2pm.

You can find Nikki and her team at Father's House Church, Christy's Lane, Shaftesbury SP7 8PH. You are sure of a warm welcome at the door. You can just turn up for coffee and cake, say hello and get to know the team.

Open House can introduce you to the services you need such as Benefits and Housing advice, Support Services ( CV and letter writing, accessing help from other charities etc) .

They also provide Emergency Aid ( food bank etc) and the Storehouse ( pre-loved household items)

They are a group of mainly Christians that represent most of the churches in Shaftesbury and are linked closely with Churches Together Shaftesbury.

Open Fridge is a community fridge that is open to all. Our motto is, 'help yourself to what's on the shelf'.

Food is sourced from local supermarkets, shops and restaurants, which otherwise might find itself in landfill. It's about reducing food waste as well as helping anyone that comes along. There are no registration forms to be filled in and we ask you to bring your own bag, limited to one per customer but you can visit up to three times a week.

Open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10 - 11:30 and 2 - 3:30.

Wardrobe Foundation is a volunteer led, local clothing support service which provides personalised clothing gift bags to women in need of clothing. Their aim is to provide each gift bag with dignity while meeting the practical need for clothing.

Wardrobe Foundation have worked with us to provide clothing parcels to Ukrainian guests arriving locally, ensuring guests have access to excellent quality, seasonally appropriate clothing based upon their specific clothing requirements and preferences.

Guggleton Farm Arts, aka The Gugg, is a not-for-profit Community-Interest-Company that proactively seeks to provide many forms of art, to anyone in the local community, and beyond; in a supportive, non-judgemental and safe environment, to enhance the wellbeing and abilities of all involved.

We are also a Certified Social Enterprise and accredited member of SOCIAL ENTERPRISE UK.

The Gugg has held fund raising events for the Disasters and Emergencies Ukraine Fund and are able to offer support, such as free arts and crafts lessons to refugees living locally who would like to improve their conversational English, whilst learning a new skill.

Donate IT have provided phones, laptops, tablets, cameras and printers to numerous displaced people.

They are the wizards of the wireless and the masters of the motherboard and we use them all the time as you can see here

Giles and the team at Friends of Guys Marsh Prison have helped families with an essential need for any home, a sewing machine.

Using machines that had ben bought to make scrubs and other PPE during the COVID 19 pandemic, they ha e refurbished, supplied and delivered machines across our area.

The Friends are great to work with, very responsive and the typical time between request and delivery ha been only couple of days.
